Cincom Systems, Cincinnati’s Original Software Startup, Celebrates 45 Years in Business!
In 1968, when Thomas M. Nies approached a bank for funding his new software technology company, the banker thought he was opening a women’s lingerie store. Needless to say, Nies didn’t get the loan. Instead, he chose to courageously self-fund the startup of Cincinnati’s first modern software technology company, Cincom Systems.
Today, 1st October 2013, Cincom is celebrating 45 years of successful operations and global expansion. Today, the company is one of the few global software providers, perhaps the only one, that remains in private hands. In Europe, Cincom’s main business areas include:
- Solutions for product configuration and quoting (Cincom Acquire)
- Solutions for automated document generation (Cincom Eloquence) and document output management (Cincom ChannelStream)
- An object-oriented application development environment (Cincom Smalltalk)
For 45 years, Cincom has helped thousands of clients worldwide by solving complex business problems with its software and services. For more information about Cincom’s products and services, contact us or visit the company’s website at www.cincom.com.
Cincom will hold its 45th anniversary celebration ceremony on October 1 at its global headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio and at its local offices worldwide.
